Books on board Iritis!

Books are heavy and weight is our main concern onboard Iritis when sailing! Nevertheless our love for books is still very important and we have a little library, probably not as big as on other boats !

Books never remain on board for a long time as we try to exchange as often as possible with other sailors we meet. As long as we are leaving french speaking countries behind us it becomes more and more difficult to read in french. We mainly read in english as our english reading sailors leave behind very good and of better quality books than the french reading ones! we often find books in french so old that they can hardly do one more sail ! German books are in a very good shape but unfortunately our german is too poor to be able to go through the entire book! we stop after the title!!!

Family and friends play a large part in updating our library with french books.

Nowadays, ebook is on its way ! should help resolve the weigh problem onboard, but we are not yet on that project! still going on with paper!!!!
